THE CLASS OF 1970, lost possibly its most famous and best known member, actor and comedian Volier “Maffy” Johnson, to a heart attack on Friday July 9th.

HIS SON – Vincent Johnson, wrote : ” I love and miss my dad so much. Thank you for honoring him with such great praises and appreciation. He is a marvel, and marvelous personality. He is my friend and simply the best father a son could grow up knowing. He always said, “Who dead ‘fus get longer rest” . What a guy ” . Notice he wrote in the present tense in places. Death is hard to accept, what finality.

Not what we got, but what we shared. Not our competence, but our character.

And not our success, but our significance .
